 At first, Gary Wasserson ’77 became involved with the war in Ukraine because of family.

Just four days after the conflict broke out, in February 2022, the Philadelphia-area resident learned he had distant relatives in the country, cousins on his mother’s side he hadn’t known about previously. Wanting to help, he initially was going to send them money, but then thought better of it. “What good will money do?” he thought. “I’ve got to get them out of there.”           See more

This is Oleg, we already installed a stove for him in his house and it helped him so much that he called us and ask to install the stove for his nephews family. His nephew is at war now protecting our country, but the shell hit his house and the windows were destroyed and heating system stopped working. We installed them a stove and made insulation for the windows. They were very grateful. Thank you so much to UkrainianChildren organization and specifically to the friends of George Donoho Bayless for the stove.

Brad has been been helping in Ukraine since the war began. A former UPS driver from Maine, Brad is now a bit of a “last mile” aid and rescue guy. He’s been working in Bakhmut, Ukriane at great peril. He’s evacuated well over 100 individuals, supplied countless people with needed food and medical supplies. He has saved lives. He has also helped deliver wood-burning stoves for us.

This is Aleksey he is from Oleksievka village. His house was heated with electricity but with light shut downs, it’s very hard to get it warm. But now with the stove it’s so war at home so he can be there without coat. He said thank you so much for all the good work you do
